Hi, I’m Suz, I’m a postdoctoral researcher in the Allan Ecology Lab at the Institute of Plant Sciences at the University of Bern, Switzerland.
I recently finished a PhD in plant ecology at The University of New South Wales and The Australian Botanic Garden, Mt Annan. My PhD research looked at the effects of climate change on Australian plant species, specifically working out if we can quantify changes that have already occurred in our plant species due to recent climate change.
My current work as a postdoc will be researching the impact of above and belowground invertebrate herbivores and pathogenic fungi on plant communities and ecosystems under a changing climate. I am involved in a global collaborative project BugNet where we will be studying this area of research across many countries all over the world (please reach out if you’d like to be involved as a collaborator!).
I love to be out in the bush or nature, walking and taking photos, as well as travelling to see many different parts of the world. I grew up by the beach in Australia and spend a lot of my spare time and thinking time in the ocean. If you’d like to get in touch, visit my twitter @SuzEveringham or contact me here.
