Outreach and science communication

I am active on Twitter and regularly Blog about my research and experiences as a scientist. I have also been involved in a range of in person and online scientific communication events and science outreach:

2020-Present: A registered scientist on Skype a Scientist, I have given many virtual presentations to school students from a range of ages in USA, Scotland and Italy. I tell the students about my research, answer any questions they have and share about all the cool parts of science.

2019-present: – Member of the Scientific Committee for the Australasian Seed Science Conference, Online – 6-10 September, 2021 (Post-poned from April 2020 until September 2021 due to COVID-19)

2018-2020: Partner with Barker College (high-school) giving regular presentations to science students about my PhD research and the field of science

August 2018 – August 2019: Postgraduate Student Committee member for the Evolution and Ecology Research Centre, UNSW

2017-2021:  Board member of the Sydney chapter for the Society for Conservation Biology; President from 2017-2019.

2017-2020: STEM professional in the Australian Scientists and Mathematicians in Schools program

2017-2020: paid contractor for outreach and education with the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney and the Australian Botanic Garden Mt. Annan
